Our professional and friendly instructors will provide attentive expert tuition on all Open Water dive courses. Once you have successfully completed your chosen course, you will be competent and internationally recognised as a PADI Open Water Diver.

Day 1

Medical checks and paperwork completed on site at 8am, before classroom & training pool sessions completed.

Day 2

Classroom sessions re-commence with a small exam and finalising skills learnt in training.

Day 3

Onboard Evolution we travel to 2 fantastic dives site on The Great Barrier Reef to conduct a series of training skills in the open water environment. 2 dives are completed.

Day 4

Onboard Evolution we again travel to our dive sites for completion of your course. When 2 dives are completed, your instructor will present you with your Scuba Diving License!

Important information for diving:

All divers must complete a Queensland Medical Questionnaire. Please be aware that certain medical conditions (eg asthma, heart disease, diabetes) and/or prescription medication may preclude some people from diving.

Be able to swim 200 metres and tread water for 10 minutes

Divers over 65yrs require a medical - if you answer YES to any question you will be referred to a qualified physician for a Dive Medical assessment that conforms to Australian Standard AS4005-1. You will not be allowed to dive until you are certified fit to dive.

  • Day 1 & 2: During your 4-day training course, spend learning the theory with classroom lessons and practice basic scuba diving skills, safety drills, and correct ascending and descending techniques during training sessions in a swimming pool.
  • Day 3 & 4: Enjoy two full-day cruises, total of four dives in all—includes BBQ Buffet lunch onboard 
  • PADI Open Water Dive Certificate, which allows you to scuba dive up to a depth of 60 feet (18 meters), join certified dive tours, rent diving equipment, and take part in advanced PADI diving courses.
