Step back in time at this recreation of the original Herberton village from the 1800’s. Showcasing Australia’s rich and diverse history this outdoor pioneer museum is testament to an era that is long gone. Billy Tea is the only regular tour operator taking guests to this extraordinary attraction which was recently voted Travellers Choice Trip Advisor One
of Top 10 Museums in Australia.

The Village currently has over 50 original buildings that date from Herberton’s foundation years. Walking through the Village, visitors are given a sense of being in a real township complete with chemist, school, bank, grocer’s store, frock salon, toy shop, a working blacksmith, jail and more.

Enjoy a cup of locally grown tea which has made our tours famous - together with fresh local tropical fruits and a selection of Gallos local cheese, prepared by your guide.

Millaa Millaa Falls is one of Tropical North Queensland’s most famous and beautiful waterfalls. Surrounded by lush rainforest the falls cascade perfectly to a pristine waterhole below where you can enjoy a refreshing swim in the cool clear water.
The falls are 18.3 metres high (60ft) and were listed on the Queensland Heritage List in 2005. The term Millaa Millaa’ is a MaMu Aboriginal phrase referring to the rainforest vine Elaeagnus Triflora whose fruit appears from May to February.

Millaa Millaa lookout is peaceful and simply stunning and at 1070m elevation, one of the best places to take in the beauty of the Tablelands with a 180 degree sweep from northwest to southeast.

Meet one of Australia’s (and the world’s) most curious and unique creatures – the Platypus! One of only three egg-laying mammals (called monotremes) in the world.
Today, you may catch your first glimpse of this amazing native. Upon arrival enjoy a Smokehouse platter, featuring a selection of handcrafted smoked meats including Crocodile and Barramundi. These wild flavours are combined with a unique blend of local Australian native herbs and spices. Then enjoy a main course selection made fresh on site. Enjoy a sample of locally crafted beer and wines from the region. All dietary needs catered for.

A great chance to spot the elusive Platypus swimming and feeding on lily pads. You may see snakes and turtles in the water as well.

The Curtain Fig Tree is one of the best known attractions of the Cairns Tablelands, and one of the largest trees in Australia. The fig tree (known as Ficus virens) is located in a national park about one kilometre north of the town of Yungaburra and is estimated to be at least 500 years old.
Size does matter, the tree is approximately 50 metres (160 ft) high with a trunk circumference of 39 metres. Its curtain of aerial roots drop 15 metres (49 ft) to the ground.
Your Billy Tea guide will walk you around the tree, so that you can view it from all sides and better understand the processes that went into its creation.

North Queensland’s rare and fascinating Lumholtz Tree Kangaroo are regularly seen in the trees that surround the Curtain Fig Tree.
